A Rainbow Party
Once upon a time, a VERY long time ago, a little girl named Hollie had a birthday. She turned 4 years old. This special girl came into our lives at age 13 months. A very sweet, curly haired, big brown eyed baby. When Danielle called me to tell me that she was taking two little foster girls into her home, I was delighted.
It's the kinda time where your heart swells with excitement and you absolutely cannot contain it. I told everyone I knew. And a few hours later I met these sweet little sisters.
2 years later these precious girls became a permanent part of our family as my sister and brother-in-law adopted them. Let me tell you we were celebrating.
And fast forward to yet another year later and my little Hollie girl has turned 4. So of course we celebrated once again. Rainbow style.
There were rainbow necklaces, rainbow fruit, rainbow skittles, rainbow cupcakes, and well, I think you get the point. We went all out!
I stole this idea from Pinterest and it was the sweetest cake you ever did taste!
The girls' grandma made these....
There was rainbow necklace making...
And of course the rainbow birthday princess!
Shy made the longest rainbow necklace ever!
Time has flown by. I could never imagine my littlest niece turning 4 and yet the year continues on. It makes me excited to see who else God might have for our families (my sister and mine) through adoption. One thing is for sure, these kind of surprises are always just a phone call away. You never even know what tomorrow will hold because I certainly didn't think I would be a mom to 5 children in a matter of less than 4 years.
God has a special way of bringing sweet littles into my life (and my sister's) for a glorious purpose and I can't wait to see where the coming years take us...
Happy birthday Holls!
