A love story

Dear Jason,

Remember when we were both 17 and you liked me so much? You left a dozen roses, a Paris clock and a note asking me to be your valentine in my car. I turned you down and said I didn't wanna a boyfriend and didn't even wanna be friends with you.

I made that 17 year old boy cry that Valentines Day night.

Fast forward to two months later because I couldn't get that feeling out of my heart. You know, the one that knows that you need to be with a certain someone? Yeah, so I made you a slideshow with pictures of us together. You watched it and at the end it said, "I like you."(I guess that's the best a 17 year old girl can come up with)!

You asked me out on April 15th, 2006. It was 11:36pm. We talked on the phone every night for hours.. I'd snuggle down under my covers, flip open my hot pink razor cellphone and speed dial my sweetie.

While you were away in Virginia I found out some completely unexpected devastating news: I would never be able to conceive or carry a baby.

I was numb to the news. You called me just 2 days later and told me you loved me for the first time. At Christmas time a year and a half later you wrote in Christmas lights "marry me!" on someone's front lawn and 9 months later we slipped wedding rings on and sealed our true love with a first kiss.

We became foster parents in October 2010 and we stepped onto a roller coaster ride. But we held hands and wiped away each others tears through all of ups and downs.

And here we are, almost 4 years later parenting a beautiful, sweet baby boy- deciding who will rock him to sleep and who will read him books before bed. Our lives have changed so much and yet one thing is still the same: our love. It's just grown stronger and tougher.

Who knew, darling? Who knew this is where we'd be? But I'm loving every moment of it with you..

Happy Fathers Day... Your love you put into our family never ceases to amaze me.

Yours forever truly,
Naomi
