An incredible weekend.
It all started with waking up to an amazing day. April in Oregon isn't usually linked with the word Sunny, but Saturday promised to be different. We hopped on our bikes and rode to the local farmers market downtown with Baby K in the toddler seat. He was all set with his Mickey Mouse helmet. It was about a 20 minute ride, but super beautiful. We met Josiah and Monique there and walked around. I was keeping my eyes out for the perfect flower bouquet and Jason was keeping his eye out for the best price on strawberries. Baby K was just thrilled with all of the dogs there.
Shortly after finding our little treasures (me the bouquet and Jason his red berries), we headed back home to give Baby K a little nap before our next adventure....
That's right...a beach day! The weather was perfect (you could not ask for better beach weather in April). It was a bit cloudy but with plenty of sun peeking through. The guys immediately started some beach football.
The girls started snapping pictures. Seriously the beach is the most perfect backdrop for photos. Incredible.
Baby K was a little nervous of the ocean, but didn't mind it in the security of Jason's arms.
The nice thing about the beach in April is that you we practically had the whole shore to ourselves. It was so relaxing to lay down a big blanket, drop off your little red cooler and prance out to the ocean to dip your toes in.

Uncle Jonathan brought his ukelele and Baby K would not put it down. He serenaded us for hours with that "tar" (guitar) as he calls it. He is gonna be a little musician someday soon.
Baby K and I watched as the other played a great game of baseball before we packed up and headed to Mo's to eat Cannonball Bowls of clam chowder.
As the sun slipped into the ocean, we set up for the perfect ending to a perfect day: a beach bonfire. Complete with roasting marshmallows, sitting on drift wood and being serenaded by Jon jon's Uke. My sister Danielle and her family met us there around 7:30pm for our campfire. Around 10pm it started to sprinkle and before we knew it we were covered with a light mist. Everything was damp and we knew it was time to go.
It really was a perfect night. It got a teensy weensy bit UNperfect (is that even a word??) when my sister and brother in law's van broke down on the way home. We spent 3 hours trying to jump their van, then shuttle them to a hotel (they have 7 in their family altogether and we had only 3 extra seats in our car) and then wait for their tow truck til 1:30am. Needless to say we weren't tucked back into our beds until 3am that morning, but it was all worth it to me! My sister and her family had to have an unexpected vacation at the beach til tomorrow until their van gets fixed... Poor them (not the vacation part, but the expense part).
I need to get my freshly washed sheets out of the dryer, make my bed and tuck myself in for a long night of sleep. My sleep deprived body is catching up to me! Hope you all had a great weekend!
