How to host your own Craft Night!

I was looking through my iPhone pictures and remembered that I had wanted to blog about a craft night I hosted a week ago! Originally, I had been working on a mobile for Norah and my sister-in-law asked me to make her one after I was done. I told her to make herself one because they were easy! She then proceeded to try and convince me that she wasn't crafty, even though, I totally know that isn't the truth! She is pregnant and due in April with baby Macie and her nursery is all quaintly decorated and cutesy.. so I don't believe her for one second. So that's when one of us suggested (I can't remember who) doing a craft night together! I was thrilled because I have SO many unfinished projects, so that's exactly why I went out and bought all new stuff at Jo-anns because I don't already have enough to do (insert extreme sarcasm).

So my MIL and my two SIL's came over for the evening and we had a blast! So without further ado, here's how to host your own craft night:

 1) Have everyone shop ahead of time or bring something they might already be working on (hint hint for myself). Don't forget to have extra newspaper on had if you might get messy.

2) Provide light snacks, but don't worry about going all crazy baking something! You just want the night to be about crafting, not cleaning up a million dishes from making homemade pie and scones or something. I provided some cheese, meat and crackers, as well as random candy (from bulk bins) and a veggie tray. Honestly, we didn't even end up eating that much because we were so focused on our crafts!

Crafters hard at work.

 3) Try to have your guests pick a craft they can easily finish that night, so they walk away from the craft night feeling accomplished and have something to show for all the hard work!

My SIL, Kenzie, painted and decorated this letter "M" for her friends nursery. LOVE!

My MIL scrap booked. She is so stinking talented!

My other SIL, Monique (who insisted she wasn't crafty), made this for baby Macie's nursery! See what I mean? Complete lies!

I made this triangle garland out of felt to bring some color to my piano!

 4) Try to plan another craft night in advance and even consider having it at other locations. We all decided we would rotate houses and then we could each take a turn hosting!

It was so much fun to have an excuse to craft all night! We started around 6:30 and most of us didn't even go home until almost 10pm! Everyone had a blast (at least I think so) and we've already planned another one!

So, there you have it. How to plan and host a craft night of your own. I hope you all will plan one soon! It is great fun and so nice just have some adult time also when you are around little ones all day, like I am!

I love crafting time with friends!! My biggest problem is narrowing down what I want to work on, and not trying to haul every supply I own!!
