True Confession: I finally broke down and cancelled our internet at home about a month ago. We were spending WAY too much money on it ($70 a month) and it was eating up mine and my husbands time together. Okay i admit it! I am addicted to blogging! And he may or may not be addicted to any sports website talking about the Blazers or Beavers. But this isn't about him. It's about me!
So anyways, my husband calls me today while I'm at work to tell me that he wants to watch baby K tonight and give me an evening all to myself to do whatever I want for how long I want! He subtly suggests going to a coffee shop and blogging and I'm thinking, "He knows me too well!"
After I made dinner tonight he admits that this idea (to give me an evening to myself) was not all him. He said this nurse at the hospital asked if his wife ever had a day off (because Jas has 2 off in a row this week). Anyways, the nurse suggested giving me a night off! Ooooohhh if I could see you right now, nurse, I would give you a hug!
So anyways, I did my favorite thing to do and browsed TJ Maxx and Fred Meyers aisles for about an hour. But I quickly decided it was not good for our budget to be there because I tried on and wanted a 39.99 jacket, but I only have 20 dollars in my clothing fund. Darn.
I babysat my nieces last week and we had a Valentines-making-party. It was super fun and they are so into it! I am used to 2 year old attention spans (from my work) and seriously these girls worked on this craft for a whole hour straight! It was so refreshing!
So this next part of blogging may be a little bit of a sore subject... he he. I found this play that I wanted to go to in town on Friday night at 7pm so I invited Josiah, Monique and Kenz to come. Long story short the play was actually at 2pm and they were breaking down the stage by the time Josiah and Monique got there. We spent seriously an hour in various parking lots trying to decide what we wanted to do instead.
We wanted to go ice skating and were about to drive 35 miles to the nearest rink, when we actually found out that it was roller blading. The guys were not impressed. So we ended up going on a shopping trip to Ross (woop woop) and then out to ice cream at Yogurt Extreme.
I was having the guys pose for this photo, when Josiah makes some snotty remark to Monique and then.... (scroll down)
BAM!! Yeah you had it coming.
Okay so that may not have been how the story went, but it sounds good as I type it. You can ask Josiah later.
So anyways while we were eating our ice cream, the guys still bitter about the play not existing and the girls still bitter about not being able to enjoy the romance of roller skating, we notice this chalk board.
Umm... that is the name of the play that we were supposed to attend. So weird huh?? What are the odds?
We snapped some photos of the sister-in-laws... Seriously can I just say that I have the most gorgeous, stylish, AWESOME sister-in-laws! They are SUPER fun!
Then things just got weirder. While we were there all of these people dressed all funky came walking in and we were just sure that they were the cast of the play that we were supposed to see. So we were all whispering about em and daring each other to got ask them to perform an act right there in Yogurt Extreme.
Turns out they were from a local school, just finishing up an 80's party. Strike 3. We were out.
And so we went home. Thus the night of class and culture with the Rices.
And we lived happily ever after. (though the slapping photo may say otherwise) he he:)

He he. What a sweet hubby.
What a series of neat happenings...you wanted to do something but maybe God had other plans. Sounds like you had more fun than you all planned. Yes, I can just imagine Joshiah making some sort of snorky remark.
Papa is always saying we pay too much for so much that we never "needed" before...cable and extra channels, internet, special coffees, etc. I never read the news on paper or on the internet...way too depressing. Rather read my families blogs, hint, hint. Love you all. Grammi
grammi was right, jason's dad never gives me a night off. he gives me 3 days ! (scrapbooking getaways are usually his idea...if mama aint happy, nobody's happy !) so next time we go, you are coming with me, naomi! you are so creative, as is obvious by the valentines party above. you're just worried that you'll make me look bad when we scrap. aren't you. AREN'T YOU???
sorry about your crazy night out, but i had fun watching Koa bear !!! I think you need to do that once a week from now on. PLEEEEEZE.
