Disneyland 2013
Baby K and I took a last minute trip to Disneyland. My husbands entire family was going and he had work and finals and therefore couldn't go [Insert sad wife]. But my mom flew (literally) to save the day with her free frequent flyer miles and 2 airline tickets to Cali! I couldn't pass up the offer. We went to California Adventure the first day and then spent the next two days at the classic Disneyland. We had an absolute blast!
We started off with an early morning at the Portland airport, nonnie with her coffee, me with my camera.
Baby K did great on his first flight and we took a shuttle to our hotel.
We spent our first day getting settled and walking around Downtown Disney. It was super fun. I wanted one of those Minnie Mouse apples but that was before I found out they were 10 bucks!
Baby K played in a fountain and walked around strapped to his little monkey harness.
We made a wish for a great time and it came true!
We headed back to our hotel for the evening to swim and soak in the hot tub. Baby K loved it. It was a heated outdoor pool and was super nice. There was a lot of construction going on while we were at the hotel and apparently they are making a water slide! We'll have to check that out the next time we come back.
The next morning we headed bright and early into Cali Adventure. We were a little disoriented when we walked in and they had done away with the miniature Golden Gate Bridge and the large letters spelling California. Since our passes are only good for one park a day, we had to horrible feeling that we had accidentally just checked into D-Land instead of Cal Adventure and that we were gonna miss seeing all the Rices! Shortly after we breathed a sigh of relief when we heard they had remodeled.
Bearsie was so excited. Just saying Hi to everyone and charming everyone who would glance his way!
We headed down the way towards the Monster Inc. ride and happened to stumble up Sully the monster. A photo shoot ensued. Of course.
Oh and you won't believe who we also saw there... Tinkerbell herself! Okay so it wasn't THE Tinkerbell but this one was WAY cuter in my opinion! [wink wink]
My two favorite cuties that I got to hang out with all morning in Cal-Aventure and D-Land. I love them!! Oh and Lily was a princess everyday! Cinderella one day, Tink the next and then Minnie Mouse another.
We met Mater...
And Lightning McQueen...
And I even got to meet my sweet little cousin? Madeline! She is a heart stealer!
Paradise Pier was lovely. We rode the ferris wheel and Baby K loved it. We did not, however, get the chance to go on California Screamin'.
Jason's cousin, Emily, and I ran to Tower of Terror while my mom babysat Baby K and Madeline. We are in the top right in the back row. I love our faces. Oh and by the way, BEST RIDE EVA. I could ride that a million times!
We watched the World of Color light/water show and it was amazing! I cried!
Next stop: Disneyland!
This Astro Orbiter was one of Baby K's favorite rides! We rode it once and he never stopped saying "Airpane Gain Gain!!"
Cinderella and her prince charming!
Auntie Kenzie took Baby K on the Peter Pan ride. That was super cute and fun.
Dumbo! This was my favorite ride as a kid. I was super happy to take Baby K on it as well.
Only my father-in-law would probably be making a sale on his iPhone while on the Dumbo ride.
Carousel with Nonnie and Auntie!
He was super grumpy on this ride and falling apart at this point of the day, but I loved that he snuggled with me...
Meeting Jessie....
I think this is my most FAVORITE picture ever. Baby K looks so adorable and it was so fun meeting Mickey Mouse finally!
We also got to ride the Finding Nemo ride! It was super cute and a nice long ride to rest our legs on! I wouldn't wanna get stuck though as my sister-in-law did last time!
My baby got his license to drive.
Patti, this ones for you!
My poor guy was zonked out in his stroller by no later than 11am the next two days of D-land.
Splash Mountain at night. Very pretty, but not very pretty to ride the very front of the log ride and be completely soaked through and through as the temperatures drop!
Terrible photo, but I love that he loved this ride. He shouted the whole time "Tractor tractor!!" No Baby K, this is a teacup, not a tractor. Typical boy!
And of course the finale, fireworks. And Tink flying across the sky. Beautiful. Once again I cried. This trip felt so good to go on. So good to fly Baby K to the happiest place on earth versus flying him across the US to leave us forever. God is good.
As we walked down mainstreet for the last time, tears welled up in my eyes as the thought crossed my mind "how long will it be before we can come back here again?" Only time will tell. But I am grateful oh so grateful to experience this trip with Baby K. It was truly magical.
