A Year in Review

I have always wanted to do a year in review post with pictures from each month and since it's December it's a perfect time to reflect on a wonderful year. It was wonderful for many reasons, but mostly because I had Baby K everyday!

January:
I was still teaching in my infant/toddler class, working 40 hours a week and planning daily activities for my little ones. Looking back, I am not sure how I did it all! Baby K was coming to work with me everyday and was only 6 months old at the time! I really miss teaching, but I love being a stay-at-home mom! Baby K was just starting to work on sitting up and was sitting with a boppy.

February
February was a lovely month! My best friend had her first baby, Brogan and I was in town to be able to visit! A friend who i've been close to forever got married to the love of her life, and Jason and I went away for our annual church Marriage Retreat. It was a super eventful month!

March
I remember this month clearly because on Jason's birthday, it snowed! We had several inches of snow on March 21st! So weird! We went on a walk and Jason built us a snowman while I held a sleeping Baby K and snapped pictures with one hand! It was a fun birthday though because we both ended up not having to go to work!

April

April was a month of firsts for Baby K.. First Easter Egg Hunt at mommy's work, first time in a swing, and first official playdate with buddy Hudson. Also it was the first time he ate spaghetti! (Alli you won't believe how little they were!!)

May

May was a super exciting month for us and the kids in our church as Jason and I and Josiah and Monique started a Children's Church Ministry. We are still having a blast teaching children's church and actually Mo and I just co-directed our children's Christmas play this month that turned out WONDERFUL!! Auntie Jen also came to visit this month and got a taste of our Children's church silliness.

June
June was kind of a sad month. I chose to leave my teaching job to be a stay-at-home mom. It was hard to say goodbye to the kids and my co-workers, but I don't regret the decision. Jason, Kenzie and I spent the day at Multnomah falls which was an epic day to be remembered for sure. Kenz accidentally dropped her phone into the falls and we never saw it again. Seriously so depressing for her poor girl. Baby K spent the day with his grandparents because there was no way I could've done the hike to the top with a baby too! It was kind of a life changing month also in that we got our first call about adoption.

July

In July we celebrated Baby K's and his cousin Brock's 1st birthday. It was a construction themed birthday and was super darling! It was perfect weather too! Sadly, the adoption did not work out with the birth mom and the baby girl that we were supposed to adopt. Jason, me and Baby K went on a little peaceful getaway to the beach to have some time away from it all. We made some good memories.

August

In August we celebrated Tyler's birthday by heading to Oaks Amusement Park for the evening! It was super fun! We also spent many days that month taking walks by the river near our house and even sticking Baby K's toes in the water!

September
Somehow this month got lost in pictures. I only have one photo and it taken on the way to celebrate mine and my sisters birthdays. We also were matched with our second birth mom in September that was due with a surprise gender October 26th. We made 2 trips to Bend to meet this mom.

I just thought I should add that none of us drive this wacko van, but just thought it'd be a cute pic.
October

October was full of excitement right up until the end. We were awaiting adopting a newborn baby that was due 10/26 and when the baby was late I started losing my mind! Finally on Halloween we went to a Harvest Carnival with Jason's family and then to church that night where we were watching October Baby. We got the call right when the movie started that the birth mom was in labor and had changed her mind about the adoption. Broke our hearts.

November

We spent Thanksgiving at the Rices house and ate dinner in their sun room which is perfect! We played Rock Band and have a lovely time. Patti gave me an early Christmas present of Christmas decorations and so I went and decorated! We even got our tree on the last day of November this year which is WAY early for us! I was in the holiday spirit I guess!

December

I just realized I have not taken even one photo in December yet which is HORRIBLE! iPhones are going to be the death of my "real" camera, I tell ya! I already know what my new years resolution is going to be: put down the iPhone and pick up that Christmas present you just HAD to have last year!

Merry Christmas!!
