Baby Hayden and Summer
May 31st we celebrated my MIL's 11th baby, Hayden Patrick, with a fun baby shower. It was fun prepping for it. I found these tissue paper flower balls on Pinterest and recreated them with a little time, tissue paper and wire. They turned out sooooo adorable and are still hanging up in my dining room!
I found some darling fabric at Joann Fabrics and sewed together this sweet little blanket for Hayden. I am IN LOVE with owls and chevron print! It was super fun to make and I even added a little tag in the seam that says "Made by Naomi" so that he will always know his sissy-in-law loves him! It was a crazy week right before the shower and so I wasn't able to finish the second blanket I am making for him, but if you are reading this Patti, it is coming soon!
The shower was at my sisters house and we had a blast with local friends, family and pastors wives. We heard some hilarious and embarrassing mom moments, played a few games and enjoyed some blueberry cheesecake and yummy blueberry jell-o dessert made by our dear friend Cassie.
All these ladies in the photo below are such dear, dear friends that it was no wonder when 10 o'clock rolled around everyone was still chatting and taking their sweet time to get out the door! Just goes to show we need to do this more often.
Besides fun baby showers, we have been taking in the lovely summer that seems to be upon us. Our pool opened last week and Baby K and I went to test it out yesterday and the day before! It may be our sweet reward after I'm done babysitting for the day (I have been babysitting 4 days a week and it's been challenging, rewarding, fun, and difficult all wrapped up in one). Baby K sat on the stairs in the pool for almost the whole time saying "Hi gurls!" over and over again to some random 10 year old girls in the pool! Then he would look at me and say, "Gurls simmin' (swimming)"! He cracks me up, this kiddo.
Last week my mom bought Baby K some new boots from a garage sale and I can hardly get him to wear anything else! He loves them!
Other than that we have been hanging out at the park, going to the gym a lot (Danielle, Allison and I are on a health plan to get in shape for summer) and hopefully going to the river, camping, and beach soon!
What have you been doing?? Happy Summer! Go buy yourself some new shades!

And of course, the sweet little boy and his mama who we were celebrating...
