San Francisco (Part 3)
Our last few days in San Francisco consisted of "Ride the Ducks" (a land and water tour of parts of the city), walking across the Golden Gate Bridge, a Big Bus night tour of San Fran, The Coit Tower and snapping a few pictures of the Painted Ladies. The other small things mixed in were frequent trips to Starbucks and Boudin's, and walking around Fishermans Wharf again shopping for souvenirs!
This trip has been amazing. Tons of quality, family time with my best friend and babies... We rarely spent any time at our hotel except to sleep and I think we only turned on the TV to watch Daniel Tiger while we got ready in the morning! It was so nice to spend every moment exploring the city and sight seeing.
When we last came to San Fran, we came on our honeymoon and basically only saw Union Square, Fishermans Wharf and the Pier. We didn't even see the Golden Gate Bridge! So this trip was super packed full of all the sites. We went went on "Ride the Ducks" and the captain was super informative about history and other information about San Francisco. Koa even got to drive the boat!
The next day we drove to the Golden Gate Bridge and took a bunch of touristy photos, learned the history of the bridge and then proceeded to walk across! The weather was PERFECT. Sunny and warm and not even that windy!
We met Auntie Kenzie, Papa and Uncle Joe for lunch at Boudin's and then took a night tour of the city on a double decker bus. It was probably the most beautiful thing I have ever seen! The sun was just going down when we got to the Golden Gate Bridge and it was completely dark when we took the Bay Bridge out to Treasure Island. I had a really hard time getting a clear picture, but it was breathtaking!
The next day we visited the Coit Tower and although it was foggy, we still got some decent views of the city. We also learned about Lillian Coit and how she left her fortune to making the city more beautiful. So they built this tower... The inside is full of murals on the walls. Very pretty.
Lastly, we visited the Painted Ladies. They were so pretty, draped in the fog. It was our last day in San Fran. We had already checked out of our hotel and were spending the last bit of our time shopping for souvenirs and eating a cookie sundae at Ghirardelli Square.
We finally left the city at Sunset and drove Hwy 101 toward the Redwoods! Can't wait to share the pictures of what we experience today!
