Until heaven... miss you gramps.

My dear gramps passed away on Saturday. He was my dads, dad and I always had the best memories of him growing up. When I was little we would spend every Labor Day weekend at his "property". We'd all bring our campers and tents and boats etc. and all the cousins would get together for a weekend of campfires, card games, cooking, fishing and boating. Some of the best memories began when we pulled our camper up that steep hill that led to the "property."

Gramps always had a listening ear for us grandkids and especially had the softest spot for my sister Jennifer who has cerebral palsy. No matter how much Jen talked (and she can talk your ear off =)), he never tired of listening to her or talking to her. My sister LOVED her gramps and knew that he loved her.

When he was hospitalized at the end of last year, Koa prayed for him EVERY night at bedtime and even during our Children's Church prayer requests. I don't know if he actually remembers this, but I have an old picture of him at around 18 months eating gramps apples from his apple tree, and he talks about it all the time.

I'm so glad that my gramps is dancing with the angels and I'm jealous he's seen Jesus face to face. I'm thankful he is out of pain and free from suffering, I miss him a lot but I can't wait to see him again someday.

Love you so much gramps... can't wait to see you again.
