I can't believe I didn't stay up for the new year

This past week has been full of packing my suitcase and then unpacking it. After Christmas I loaded Baby K up in the car along with our red suitcase and went to visit my mom. I wanted to spend some one on one quality time with her.

We sat on the couch by the fire with coffee and talked about everything. We cried about Grandma and laughed about old memories. We talked about the future and the past.

It was a great time.. Not busy, not planned, just enjoyable.

I stayed there for 2 days then headed back home to work on my Grandma's slideshow for her funeral. I spent an entire day on that scanning about 100 photos onto a flash drive, editing, sorting, ordering and putting them into a One True Media slideshow, finding music to go with it and more.

On Friday morning we traveled over the mountain to go to my grandma's funeral. It was snowing hard and it was absolutely beautiful. We checked into the Comfort Inn and Suites and spent the day chatting with relatives we hadn't see in awhile. (BTW, why does it take a funeral to get together with your family? This should be happening more often.)

I guess I was too preoccupied to take too many pictures because I only took like 3 the whole trip.

This bracelet was my grandma's and I wore it proudly that weekend...

Jason snapped this picture on his phone of the view from the cemetery where my grandma was laid to rest. The picture doesn't do it justice. It is so beautiful...

After the funeral, we all gathered at my great Aunt Rene's house to be together. Unfortunately my mom got sick with vertigo and ended up in the emergency room. My sister, her family, my family and my other sister spent the rest of New Year's Eve in a hotel room.

We had KFC for dinner, watched some TV and I crashed before the clock struck midnight. Jason woke me up to tell me that the new year had begun. I groggily fell back asleep.

Sunday we headed back over the mountain, this time without any snow fall.

Monday was laundry and winter cleaning day. And today? Today I went back to work and took care of a sick baby. I'm tired and very shortly I'm gonna snuggle up with my little man and fall into a deep sleep.

Happy New Year!

What a beautiful scene from the cementary. Love your new header and background. Love you sweetie, and that man you reside with and the little guy as well.
Beautiful.
