Newport Outreach and beach weekend

Last week our church sent a team to one of our connected churches in Newport, OR. We were inviting people out to a concert and BBQ and special church services that were the following week. The weather was incredible.

That being said, the weather is RARELY incredible on our Oregon beaches and usually if there is a little bit of sun it is quickly covered by the fog rolling in. But we came on a Sunny and 80 degree day and all have sunburns to prove it!

After the outreach we spent some time on the beach and walked around and visited the little shops on the waterfront. They were so cute! Spendy, but adorable.

This is one of my favorite pictures. I think because it's rare to get a sincere photo out of these three... ahem... see next photo.

Unfortunately there was a power plant explosion right before we were supposed to start the evening concert and they had to cancel the show because there was no power. Thank goodness no one was hurt in the explosion there and there were 7 people who accepted Jesus into their life that day!

So glad that I had Mo to hang out with for the day, but I missed the 3rd part of the sister-in-law trio, Kenzie.

The weather lately has felt like summer although it is only the beginning of May. This is super unusual for our part of Oregon since it almost always is raining clear through the 2nd week of June. I am keeping my fingers crossed for this weather to stay and meanwhile we are taking full advantage of the sun. Trips to the coast, afternoons at the river with Baby K and my in-laws, Farmer's Market, local parks, and other fun things.

What have you been doing with your good weather??
